    These past few weeks I worked on a lot of implementation into the build. I got a separate blueprint        for the left hand going so that it plays a different animation upon grabbing the ring. I also set up a        torch blueprint that now hurts the Nazgul instead of the stingblade and had the stingblade clash with
    the Nazgul instead. I also implemented a lot of different sound effects including Sauron talking to 
    you when picking up the ring. However the most daunting and toughest task was definitely rigging
    the clothed Nazgul with IK set ups. That took a lot of hours but I'm very happy with how me, our        animator Nate, and our character artist Beste were able to make it look in engine.

    This week was definitely the busiest for me. I made a rig for the proxy mesh for the Nazgul character we have. We eventually plan to throw this character into marvelous designer for cloth with the assigned animations from our animator Nate. I also set a pawn blueprint so that the character will change animations based off trigger boxes and when it gets hit by a sting blade. I also set up background music as well as some free gabbable rocks. I also dipped my toes into enviornment art this round as I took a trim sheet I had and uv'ed our environment with it.

LOTR VR Week 3

 




        This week I set up a small master shader for our VR game to start making instances of the material for every asset we will have in our game. I set up the master shader to support the ORM packed maps we are using for our build as well as a custom emissive UI set up for the assets like the ring with glowing text. On top of this I also worked with our prop artist Megan to help fix the nav mesh issues we encountered last week. Lastly, I applied our hand rig to Beste's final pass of the hands as well as imported Nate's final animations for the hands.

        This week I focused on setting up snappable objects as well as the hero animation of Frodo grabbing the ring into the build. I went about doing this by freezing my current animation state machine output and making a smaller new state machine within the animation blueprint to activate the ring grabbing animation. I then set up a blueprint for when the playe grabs the ring prop it will activate that specific animation as well as snapping in the middle of the two fingers. I also edited the lighting for the scene to replicate the original weathertop scene more accurately. I also set up a newer version of Frodo's hand with the rig I made last week.
